Exam regulations

  • English LPC
    • This is a closed examination, meaning that only the specific level for which the test has been configured will be assessed.
    • If, contrary to expectations, the targeted level is not achieved, a fallback solution applies:
      In this case, the test is still considered passed. Instead, a lower level will be assigned, and the certificate will be issued according to that level.
    • The examination fees are tiered and depend on the rating:
      • SPL/LAPL/PPL
        • Level 4: 180€
        • Level 5: 250€
        • Level 6: 270€
      • CPL/ATPL
        • Level 4: 200€
        • Level 5: 270€
        • Level 6: 290€
      • In accordance with § 4 no. 21 of the German VAT Act (UStG), the stated final prices are exempt from VAT.

  • German LPC
    • The examination is conducted in an open format. This means that no specific level is defined in advance; instead, the appropriate level is assigned based on the candidate’s demonstrated performance.
    • The examination fee is a flat rate of 220€.
       
  • You will be provided with information and practice materials before the exam, so you can find your bearings and feel supported. The test is not meant to catch you off guard, but to give you a fair chance.
  • No advance payment is required for the examination. An invoice will be issued after completion of the test. Once the payment has been received, the certificate will be issued within 3–5 working days.
  • Please note that during peak periods (e.g. at the end of the month or during holiday seasons), longer processing times may occasionally occur. In such cases, you will of course be informed in good time.
  • Appointments on Saturdays and Sundays are gladly possible. I would be happy if you could send me a short, polite email with your proposed date – I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Questions I Get Asked Frequently

Question 1

Is the certificate valid internationally?

Yes, our certificate is recognized in all EASA countries.
To make things as straightforward as possible for you, we also provide the LTB recognition certificate and our examiner licenses.

Question 2

When should I renew my language endorsement?

The renewal of the language proficiency endorsement can be done no earlier than 3 months before its expiration. If the test is taken within this renewal period, the validity of the new language proficiency endorsement will be calculated from the last day of the month in which the original endorsement expires.

Question 3

Why can’t the certificate be issued immediately?

Typically, your certificate is issued within 3–5 business days, though it often happens even faster. I prefer to stay realistic and plan for the “worst-case scenario” rather than promise something I can’t guarantee.

As an LPE, I unfortunately cannot issue the certificate myself. What I can reliably assure you, however, is that I will assess your test immediately after our examination and forward the results without delay. This ensures that any waiting time on my part is kept to an absolute minimum.

From that point on, the time until the certificate is issued depends on the LTB and is unfortunately no longer within my direct control.

If it’s particularly urgent, please contact me in advance – I will gladly check with the LTB whether a faster or even immediate certificate issuance is possible.

Question 4

Why don’t you offer advance payment?

There are two reasons for this: First, I want to give you the opportunity on the test day to consciously decide which level you want to take. Since the prices vary depending on the level and rating, an advance payment would lock you in and remove this flexibility.

Second, it’s important to me that no one feels obligated to take the test just because they’ve already paid. You should have the freedom to reschedule, postpone, or even cancel the test at short notice - whatever works best for you.

Question 5

Is it possible to receive the certificate on the same day or within 24 hours?

In principle, this is possible. In many cases, the certificate is issued on the same day or the following day. However, depending on the workload at the LTB or during peak periods, such as around the turn of the month, issuance may take 3 to 5 business days.

If it is particularly urgent for you, please feel free to contact me at any time. I will then coordinate with the LTB to check whether same-day issuance is possible.

Question 6

I need my certificate immediately — what can I do?

In such cases, it’s best to call me directly. I will carefully listen to your needs and then contact the LTB to work together on finding a suitable solution for you. We always do our best to accommodate every customer request.

Depending on how quickly the LTB can issue your certificate, I will get back to you to personally discuss all further steps.

The rule is simple: just call and ask — I’ll take care of it and make sure we find the best possible solution for you.

Question 5

Could advance payment speed up the evaluation process?

The issuance of the certificate is not within my control but is handled by the LTB and depends on their internal processing time. I will, however, assess your test immediately after our meeting, ensuring that you do not lose any valuable time on my part. From that point onward, the process is outside my sphere of influence, which is why an advance payment unfortunately cannot speed things up.

Please be assured that I will do everything within my power to make the entire process as quick, transparent, and smooth as possible for you.

Question 6

Does my radiotelephony license expire when my language endorsement expires?

Your radiotelephony license is valid for life - it does not expire. What is time-limited, however, is your authorization to operate in English or to fly internationally. Once your language endorsement expires, you must renew it to continue operating internationally or in English, but your license itself remains valid indefinitely.

Question 7

Is it a problem if my language endorsement has expired?

Don’t worry – an expired language endorsement is not the end of the world. However, without a valid endorsement, you are no longer allowed to operate in English or fly internationally. It’s best to plan your renewal in advance to ensure everything continues smoothly. If you are already registered in our system, you will automatically receive a reminder email before your language endorsement expires. Should it expire, we can quickly conduct the test, you submit everything to your authority, and you will soon receive your new license with a valid language endorsement.
